No Zwave means I can nee upgrade.

Zwave is the only smart home protocol that is ecurity certified. This makes it crucial for locks. Zwave devices also work virtually flawlessly once set up as they require approval to be certified.
Samsung just doubled down on the fact they don really care abou your smart home infrastructure wih this change.

Avoid Samsung SmartThings, Dropped Zwave

I'm giving this a 1 star due to customer service in regards to this product. The product works as expected but the matters network was not reliable so I returned it. Now 5 months later still no refund and have talked with customer service maybe 8 times. They kept telling it was being escalated after 3 different case numbers they finally stated no refund would be issued. I called and demanded to know why and was told they do not sell Aeotec on Samsung.com so I sent her a pic of the order consider she could have just looked up the order number. Then I was told they never received the item when I sent the Fedex tracking number plus the signature when delivered. Finally I was told a refund would be issued because the item was damaged by Fedex but got an email 2 days later saying it was being escalated again. So being a long term Samung customer with every top of the line TV's in all the rooms, top of the line kitchen appliances, tablets, and would upgrade my flagship cellular phone for the past 8 years I will no long purchase anything from this company. For $99 they don't seem to care.

Horrible customer service

I have been a Smartthings user since 2016 and was looking forward to upgrading but, like many others, I have a lot of zwave devices.  I was just able to get the hub v1 which still supports zwave. Not sure what Samsung is thinking by not supporting zwave in V2.

Z-wave Lacking

It does not have Z-Wave. In my opinion, it is still too early in the technology's development to begin limiting or excluding connectivity to certain protocols.

How about backward compatibility? What am I supposed to do with all my z-wave switches???
With this choce, instead of offering an upgrade possibility, Samsung is closing  the door to many existing smart home users. Only people who are starting home automation from scratch will buy.

No z-wave = only good for newbies

What were they thinking! NOT compatible with Z-Wave!  Amazon alone sells over 100 different Z-Wave devices. This hub can control NONE of them.  All of the better consumer and commercial/industrial devices are Z-Wave.
